Character and Glyph Types

Special characters and glyphs are not part of a base font set; however, they can usually be purchased as a separate font set or “expert set.” An expert character set includes alternate versions of specific letterforms including small capitals, old style figures, superior and inferior figures, superior lowercase, ligatures, fractions, and symbols.
